Ghoul's Night Out

It's never too early to talk about Halloween at our house. Ryan has had his costume planned for months. He wants to be the golden robot from LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem video. LOL. I told him I'm going to get dressed up as the blonde who wears the silver bathing suit and platform heels. He's mortified! But, I digress...

Webster's has released their first Halloween line and it's adorable! I got the chance to play around with some of the new goodies and here's the result.

We go trick or treating with our neighbors every year, so this is the group photo shot. Ryan decided he wanted to be Slappy (an evil ventriloquist's dummy from the Goosebumps series). We didn't tell him that without the mask he looked like Pee Wee Herman!
See those cute owls. they are from the new transparencies. And the orange ric rac trim is my favorite!!!
I love the title. It was cut with my Silhouette. And see that cute cat cameo? It came from the Perect Accents kit.

You can order Once Upon a Halloween now at the Webster's site. Everything is shipping in August. And there are tons of cute layout samples on the blog, if you want more inspiration! :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

So, this was the week of the washing machine. My 14 year old Kenmore died (it's been on it's way out for a while), so I had to quickly learn about new washers. Thanks to Consumer's Reports, my Facebook friends and lots of online reading, I got some fast lessons. I'm not sure the perfect machine exists out there (in our price range), but I finally settled on another Kenmore that got top reviews from CR. It's coming today and I'm so excited! I've got several loads waiting to go. Fran and Ryan think I'm crazy for being so excited about a washer, but they just don't get it. I use this thing daily! Now, if my piece of junk dishwasher would just go, I'd be a REALLY happy girl!!!

I have a couple of things today. First up is my Creative Weekly page for Crate.

I decided to do a page about my last birthday. Of course I had to celebrate it with my favorite drink - a margarita!
I've been saving business envelopes that I get in the mail. I cut around the edges of them to create little pockets for my star shaped confetti.
I tucked little Elle's Studio tags inside the pockets and added some chipboard to create the title.
Finally, I added some brads. I love Crate's brads - they have the best designs!! :)

My next project is a card I did for Emma's a couple of weeks ago. I used a mix of things to create this. I started with some Queen and Co. washi tape and topped it with some Jenni Bowlin chipboard hearts.
The pinwheel is AC and I layered it on top of a Heidi Swapp stamped  image which was adhered to an AC label sticker.

The inside used some of the same materials, but I added a Technique Tuesday stamp.
That's it for today. I'm off to pretreat my laundry. LOL!

Summer Fun

Happy Sunday! Not much going on this weekend. I was supposed to head to the beach, but the weather was lousy on Friday, so we decided to bag it. Hoping to get down there sometime next week.

I had a bit of free time this week, so I decided that I'd play along with Studio Calico's Sunday Sketch challenge. I had these pictures of Ryan at Marco Island, so I thought I'd use them. I just recently got some of the new Heyday papers and have had these cute Elle's Studio tags that I've been wanting to play with. So this is what I made:

The stamp is from Elle's, too. I heat embossed it. And see those yellow chevrons? I decided I wanted to use my new chevron mask, so I inked them with my Prima chalk ink. It was so much fun!  I will be doing that technique more often for sure.
I love the multi-media look on other people's pages, just have a hard time making myself do it!

I also used a SC cut file - the cute Summer Admit One ticket. I thought it went perfectly with the page.

Below is another photo of my son the fish. He was practicing his 'underwater meditaion.'. LOL
I used a bunch of MME and Echo Park on here.
I cut the title with my Silhouette.

The cute Washi tape at the bottom is Queen and Co. The other one is AC.

I'm having a hard time staying motivated this summer, for some reason. So, if you see my mojo, please send it back!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CHA Time!

Happy Wednesday! It's a hot one here, already in the mid 80s and it's only 7:30! Oh well, aside from an orthodontist appointment this morning, I don't have a lot going on. Hoping to just hang in and scrap!

With CHA going on right now, I'm kind of bummed. I love going to the winter show with Cindy from Emma's Paperie and am feeling quite left out that I couldn't be there right now. Sigh. At least there are lots of fun new goodies to see! I thought  I'd post a few of my faves:

First up is Park Drive from Webster's. The colors are brilliant together. LOVE it!!

I am so in love with all three of Crate's new lines! (So thrilled to be back for another term with them!) Acorn Lane may just be my favorite line of all this summer! The colors and motifs are awesome.

I'm addicted to Elle's Studio tags and these new ones are adorable! Anything with aqua, red and pink has me hooked!
I love everything Studio Calico is releasing, too, but these little instagram frames are the BEST!
Pink Paislee's last few releases haven't wowed me, but let me tell you I am in LOVE with everything they put out this summer. Portfolio is amazing. Grey, aqua and yellow....sigh!!!
And the coordinating stamps are on the top of my MUST HAVE list!!
Finally, I just adore the colors in MME's Tangerine line. Check out that chevron washi tape!!!

So, I'll leave you with the small piece of me that DID make it to CHA. This layout is at the Webster's booth. It's a favorite picture of my sweet friend Amanda and me at Marco Island this past June. I used Webster's Girl Land on it.
I added some misting on the kraft background and used some pins and princess petals.

The flowers and title were cut with my Silhouette.

So, what is your favorite thing from CHA this summer?
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

I'd Follow You to the Ends of the Earth!

Hi!! Sorry it's been so long. I was away at Cub Scout camp with Ryan for the past four days. I wasn't thrilled about having to go, but I have to say I ended up having a great time. Ryan did archery, rock wall climbing, bb gun shooting, hiking, boating, swimming and of course shopping at the Trading Post. A fun time was definitely had by all.

I have a couple of cards to share today. I love this first one because it uses these fun Travel Wood Veneers from Studio Calico. At first, I was going to make it a bon voyage card, but decided to do a love theme instead...

Isn't that badge great? I'm loving these. I thought the heart looked cute on top of it.
My next card uses some of the OA sidewalks collection.
I decided to add twine to the die cut and layered it onto another larger die cut. Then I topped it with a heart and button.

Also wanted to let you know about a fun event coming up at Bazzil. They are having a release party!

This Tuesday, at CHA they are going to start showing sneak peeks and will be giving away goodies. Every hour they will show something new and give you the chance to win it before you can buy it. I'll be checking it out for sure! You can also visit their Facebook page for information here: Bazzil on Facebook.

So, that's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

It's Monday, Again!

How is it that Monday keeps sneaking up on me! Ugh. LOL. Hope you had a good weekend. As always, mine went far too quickly. I spent much of it inside, because it was sooo hot. But, the good news is that today is supposed to be back to the 80s. We'll see...

I have a fun page to share today. It's one of my new faves! I did it for the Emma's blog post focusing on Studio Calico.

I wanted to do a page about how good of a traveler Ryan is.  This picture was taken while we were in line for security. That kid knows what to do! He IS happy that they changed the rules, though, and since he's under 12 he no longer has to take off his shoes.

I used a lot of the Abroad line on here. I cut the clouds with my Silhouette and backed them with the map paper. The title was cut with the Silhouette, too.
I threw in a bit of Crate Storyteller for good measure. :)
And since I'm trying to incorporate more stamping onto my pages, I stamped the tag and chevron border onto a transparency and embossed it with black Zing. Even added some stitching to it.

So, that's it for today. I may not be posting again this week since Ryan and I are heading to Cub Scout camp. Just me, the boys and the dads. I told Fran he owes me a spa weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Hunger Games

I love to eat. It's no secret. But, I'm not a meat and potatoes kind of gal. I love all kinds of seafood, fruits, veggies, ethnic foods and, of course, my favorite - chips and salsa with guacamole! I could totally be a vegetarian except for the fact that I love a good filet mignon or cheeseburger once in a blue moon. It's a good thing I get to the gym as often as I do because I'd probably be huge if I didn't . So, a couple of weeks ago, the challenge on the Emma's blog was to create a project based on a book. At first I perused Barnes and Noble looking for books whose design or color I really liked. Well, I couldn't find one. But, then it hit me...

I could use one of my favorite books, The Hunger Games, as inspiration! I have so many photos of my favorite foods, so it would be perfect.
I used photos of butternut squash with brown butter and sage, yellow curry, fish tacos, mexican sweet potato and avocado quinoa salad and thai crab cakes with purple sticky rice. (OK, my mouth is drooling after typing all of that out, LOL.)
I pulled out some MME and Echo park papers here. The wood letters are Pink Paislee. I think I could use those on everything. And I added some MME brads and Studio Calico veneers.
My next project is also one I did for Emma's. I used a Little Yellow Bicycle chipboard frame as the base and added some transparencies to it. Topped off the little bird with some flowers and gems.

So, I thought I'd leave you with the sneaks for Webster's Royal Christmas line. It's so elegant!! Here is a photo of my favorite paper from the line. I absolutely adore those little cards. They will be getting a lot of use for sure!

And, how fun is this. There are going to be 12 by 12 transparencies!! The first thing I thought was that now that Hambly is no more, I'll have another option. Yay!!
You can see the rest of the peeks on the Webster's blog. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
